Namibia, an Amazing African Adventure

A new place full of unexpected encounteurs. Desert, Ocean, Forest. A place where the desert meets the ocean, a giraffe and an elephant runs in front of you car without saying hello first, you can stand by skeletons of tress which are believed to have died 600 – 700 years ago and where from the top of a mountain you can see an endless forest of green. Thats Namibia, a precious part of the world in the African continent, a place that once explored will remain in your heart, mind and soul for eternity.

I will confess that at first i was a little scared, going to an African country by myself, exploring many parts of it having no clue of what I was going to see ahead.

I first headed south from Windhoed, the capital. Driving a standard rental car, Corolla to be precised, I drove on gravel road for about 5 hours, probably crossed by four other cars in that time, two of them with flat tire. For four hours it was just me, and the semi desertic world.  I felt lucky since during my entire trip and not driving a SUV or 4X4 I didnt get a flat tire. It was an adventure indeed.

That afternoon i checked in at this amazing place surrounded by nature. Beautiful way to end my first day exploring.

Next day was going to hit the climax of my adventure, thats the day I was planning to arrive at the Deadvlei, my rewarding moment was a few hours away, just a few more hours on a gravel road to add to my adventure.

Deadvlei is situated inside Namib Naukluft National Park and besides Deadvlei exploring the rest of the park is a must.

After exploring Namib Naukluft National Park seemed like going to Africa without experiencing a safari was a no brainer so to end my last few days in Namibia I headed north to Etosha National park, home of elephants, lions, black rhinoceros, zebras, giraffes and even the rare black-faced impala.  I was speecheless and so excited to see elephants in the wild crossing the roads and even a giraffe running while crossing a road while I was visiting Waterberg Plateau Park.
